This policy explains how Aumnify AI Limited, trading as FindaKiwi (“we”, “us”), collects, uses, and protects personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address and password when you register, and your name if you add it. If you sign in with Google we receive your name and email from Google.
- Listing and claim information: business details you submit, and when you claim a listing, your NZBN, business phone, business email, and any document you upload to verify ownership.
- Payments: processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment and the last digits of your card, never the full card number.
- Messages and reviews: content you send or post through the site.
- Usage data: pages visited and general analytics via Google Analytics, and technical logs kept by our host for security.
How we use it
We use personal information to run the directory: creating and managing accounts, publishing listings, verifying ownership claims, processing payments, sending transactional email (verification, receipts, renewal notices), responding to enquiries, and keeping the site secure. We do not sell personal information.
Who we share it with
Service providers who process data for us: Stripe (payments), Google (sign-in and analytics), Hostinger (hosting), and our email provider. Some providers store data outside New Zealand; where they do, we rely on providers whose safeguards are comparable to the Privacy Act 2020, as Principle 12 requires. We disclose information where the law requires it.
Public information
Business listings are public by design, including the business contact details in them. Reviews are public with your display name. Your account email address is not displayed publicly.
Retention and security
We keep personal information only while it is needed for the purposes above or as tax and business records law requires, then delete or anonymise it. Claim verification documents are deleted once the claim is decided and any dispute period has passed. Data is stored on secured servers with access limited to people who need it.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email kiaora@findakiwi.co.nz and we will respond within 20 working days. You can also delete your account from your settings, which removes your personal information from public view.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, contact us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Cookies
We use cookies needed for the site to work (login sessions, cart) and Google Analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser; the site will still mostly work but you will not stay logged in.
